Evaluation

My MMP fit my design specification well. I came up against a few problems like the colour of the text not contrasting well with the picture. I also had some problems with slides that had no pictures that were associated with them. My MMP ran long as it was 4 minutes but on the plus side it ran for the entire song.

Design

Storyboard:
I don’t have a specific number of slides that I need but I do have criteria as to how many words can go on a specific slide. It has to be readable and clear. I want happy music and humorous pictures. I want my MMP to have a positive message and be a fun thing to watch. The slides have to have pictures associated with the words.

PLAN:
I intend to do this project at home considering that the music I want is at home. I give myself a week to do this project so that I still have time to make the necessary changes. I will go step by step – looking through the poem and choosing the necessary pictures to match the words. I will then create the movie. I will use Windows Movie Maker and if necessary, some photo-editing software.

MMP Test

My poem is sort of weird and funny in its own way, so if people laugh a little or find it bemusing... that's probably good enough.

I have chosen 2 multimedia poetry examples one which i like very much and another which i don't like so much. "What is Life?" isn't very good in my opinion. The music goes on a lot longer than the actual poem. It is very different from what the pictures are trying to portray or at least seem like they are. The only link to it was the line "choose your destiny". The pictures were also completely disconnected; a picture of a baby, a toddler and a teenager, Sean Connery, a grave and some random whirly thing. What the pictures seem to want to show is something entirely different from what they actually do. On the other hand I love "Broken" The words are moving, the music is moving, the pictures are moving. Everything is so simple and effective. No crazy fonts or transitions just basic and gripping. I really enjoyed it!

What is Multimedia Poetry?

Multimedia poetry is when you put words images and sounds together to create a video of some sort that symbolically portrays what you want to convey to audiences. Your poem is the words, obviously. images are helpful if you cannot quite put into words what you want to say. Music is also an important tool. it can change the entire tone of the video and stir up emotions that would otherwise not come out.

Poem

Words

Words, Words, Words, nothing but ink on a page,
They will sit there idle for many an age.
Most of these lazy words lie in a big book,
Its called a dictionary, care to take a look?
Set it on the table and blow off the dust.
Open the cover and search for the word, you must.
Find what you're looking for, then say the word.
Not even a dictionary can explain what you just heard.

"Stone," "Stone, Stone, Stone," if you haven't a clue,
If you don't know the words to a song, this is what you do.
You sit on the floor hugging a pillow and a blanket,
Put a hat on your head and prepare to make a racket.
Find the word "Stone";Pick a tune,
And sing the word continuously as you look to the moon.
Do it, you'll see,
You'll soon understand just how fulfilling it can be.

Here's another one - antidisestablishmentarianism.
You won't spell it right so don't worry about plagiarism.
It's the word to use when you want to look smart.
But to use it right is practically an art!
If you need to understand just break it down.
You can carry the pieces and not have to frown.
Anti is negative, dis is something, establishmentarianism is an entirely other thing!
And when you figure it all out, your head will go "ting!"

So as you can probably guess, I don't really know
These words or how they go.
Try as I might, I won't have the intellect, the smarts, or the brains
To get these words on all my thought trains.
That's why I wrote this poem you see.
Well apart from school it's for people like me.
And so I say in this forum,
Please say these words with decorum.

What is Web 2.0?

If you look up Web 2.0 in a dictionary then you will come up with this definition "the second generation of the World Wide Web in which content is user-generated and dynamic, and software is offered that mimics desktop programs" it is basically communicating with others using the internet. Whether it be photo or video sharing, sending emails, chatting or even talking to someone. They are all forms of communicating. You are now in charge of what goes up and the internet is no longer controlled by industries and random organizations.
